Quartetto Ápeiron

The Ápeiron Guitar Quartet performs a concert activity aimed mainly at the discovery and dissemination of an original repertoire for four guitars

Present on the music scene for more than fifteen years, the Ápeiron Guitar Quartet (AGQ) conducts its concert activity aimed at the discovery and disclosure of the original repertoire for four guitars, inspiring and motivating the composers to write for this ensemble. In 2006, they produced the first album “Ápeiron” with music composed by York, Duarate, Brouwer, Laurent, Miletic, Rak and Bellinati. In 2010, the quartet took part in making of the CD “Playing Marcos Vinicius”, which was published by Sonitus. AGQ has also been recorded and broadcasted by Rai 3 and Czech National Nadio. Furthermore, the quartet has established several notable collaborations with composers such as Ivan Šuran, Desmond Clarke, Paul Mortilla and Daniel Kessner. In 2013, AGQ participated at the XXVI Guitar Congress in Sanremo , Italy. The following 2014 and 2015, as quartet-in-residence, they premiered several works at the Highscore Music Festival in Pavia where the guests of honor were Steven Mackey and Helmut Lachenmann.

Born in Pula (Croatia), he performs with the Ápeiron Guitar Quartet and Quintet Busara, with whom he participated in important festivals such as Sziget Budapest, Roccelletta the Ionian Jazz Festival (Calabria) and New Year's Eve in Naples (designed with Cirque du Soleil). He has also taken part in composing the soundtrack for the documentary Godine rđe (1999), which has won a prize as a best Croatian documentary. Currently he works as a teacher at the State Music School in Umag (Croatia).

Vjekoslav Crnobori

He has been playing in duo with guitarist A. Monarda (2009-13), since 2013 with Ápeiron guitar quartet and since 2016 with Res Intimae guitar trio. The duo has won prizes in several national and international competitions, played in festivals such as MiTo Settembre Musica and pieces have been dedicated by M. Azzan (“AMMA”, Rugginenti Editore) and G. Colombo-Taccani ("A perfect beat of", Suvini - Zerboni). He studied guitar with L. Pizzutel, F. Zigante, C. Marchione and Renaissance lute with M. Lonardi at SMAV (2007-10).

Michele Ambrosi

He has performed the world premiere of the composition "Concavo e Convesso", written in January 2007 by Corrado Rojac and dedicated to Frédéric Zigante. In 2010, he has also performed the premiere of "Trigger" - a composition for acoustic guitar and live electronics by Ivan Penov. He has been active not only as soloist, but also performs with the quartet Ápeiron. Currently he works as a guitar teacher at the music school in Ilirska Bistrica (Slovenia).

Vlatko Bocevski

Due to his keen interest in music of the early nineteenth century he performed the concert of complete sonatas of Fernando Sor with an original instrument. He attended master classes with Elena Casoli, Oscar Ghiglia, Eduardo Fernández, Jean-Pierre Armengaud and studied with Olivier Chassain at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. In addition to the performing concert activities as a soloist he has been a member of the guitar quartet Ápeiron. Presently, he works as a teacher at the School of Music "Città di Codroipo" and at the School of instrumental and vocal music "Arrigo Valoppi" in Sedegliano (Italy).
